Self-care is crucial to attracting abundance in your life.

Self-Care: We have often heard how critical self-care is and that we can't take care of someone else if we don't take care of ourselves first. Airline stewardesses tell you on an airplane to put on your facemask before your children. Nurses say to new mothers, "make sure you nap when the baby naps so you can take care of yourself too."
How many of us listen to this, though? I know for myself that I used to put everyone before myself. I was a wife and mother, and employee before me. It is so easy to place your responsibilities first you forget that you have needs and wants too.
After reading many self-help books and working on loving myself, I found this true. I am focusing on getting to know the real me and not settling anymore. I have lost myself too many times in one of my roles that I refuse to do it again. Because of this, I wanted to search for suggestions on focusing on myself and what I could recommend to others. I was led to the website http://TinyBuddha.com and found an article that talks about self-love for relationships. The article has an excellent section that explains what self-love looks like. Some of the ways that stuck a cord with me are listed below in my own words.
-Prioritizing my needs and dreams
-Saying NO to things I disagree with
-It's okay to spend time with those that support and encourage me more than those that don't
- Be gentle with me. We are our own worst critics. We have the worst self-talk, but we can change our internal conversation.
- Have the courage to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. You will never know what might inspire you more than what you currently do.
- Trust yourself and your gut. Don't overthink things; feel them.
- Gift yourself forgiveness and acceptance as you do for others.
- See the good in everything, and don't let others bring you down.
Let me know what your thoughts are. How many of you who read the article find you still have more work to do to love yourself first?
